Irene Cemas
BScPT, CAFC, MCPA
Irene Cemas graduated from the University of Toronto in 1993 and completed rotations in Plastics, Orthopaedics and Sport Rehab, Emergency Care, Inpatient Stroke and coverage on general medicine wards. She has enjoyed caring for individuals and families in the Caledon region since 2001 . Her interests involve integrating orthopedic physiotherapy training with complementary manual therapy techniques, such as acupressure, myofascial and articular fascial release to name a few.
Trained in Stott Pilates techniques and current exercise trends, Irene ensures that each client is taught a comprehensive exercise program to correct postural imbalances and promote optimal functional gains. Irene was certified in acupuncture in 2005 and enjoys the ongoing education she receives by working with team members who are trained in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Irene has extensive training in cancer care and has also worked part time at Wellspring Chinguacousy were she leads a cancer exercise program. Her years of experience have fostered strong community bonds and she enjoys advocating for her clients to ensure their rehabilitation needs are met.
Irene’s varied work experiences have allowed her to treat clients of all ages. This includes a wide array of orthopedic, sport, cardiorespiratory and neurological conditions. She particularly enjoys working with clients who come to her with unique, long standing physical concerns as she finds the challenge of unravelling movement disorders to be very rewarding.
